document project-a study of shoes

for my document project, i chose to focus on shoes, the different types, materials, the new, the old and beaten-up, etc. shoes can tell someone a lot about the person that wears them. if i had had more time for this project, i would have liked to experiment a bit more and perhaps try going to a place (like a mall) and photographing people and the different shoes they were all wearing, maybe more like action shots, but unfortunately did not have the time to do that. i feel shoes can still tell a story even when they aren't being worn. i think shoes are a fun subject for the document project because they are always changing. styles of shoes are in constant change, and sometimes, to our parent's horror, styles come back again, but i find the changing fashions fascinating and something worth documenting.
